Actual Working Guide on how to auto-start Chromium at 200% zoom

Thu Dec 05, 2019 12:13 am

Does anyone have an actual working guide on how to auto-launch Chromium on startup to a website and zoom to 200% with a Raspberry Pi 4 with Rasperian Buster ?

I've searched the web and found about 20 different guides, and every one of them ends up with "file not found" or "error" at some point and doesn't work. I tried Binary Motions program, but it doesn't support zooming so I can't use that.

It's maddening that such a simple thing seems next to impossible.

A quick Google turned up this command:

Code: Select all

chromium-browser --force-device-scale-factor=2.0 www.raspberrypi.org
Note that 2.0 means 200% .... Adjust as necessary.

Add the above command to whats already in autostart:

Code: Select all

sudo nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated Raspbian Buster w/ Desktop OS.

Now I feel dumb.

I've been working on this for 3 days and I guess I never saw the "sudo" in front of nano, so I was going through all of these guides and every time I did nano /etc/xdg/lxsession/LXDE-pi/autostart I got "no such file or directory"
