USB ATSC Tuners that are compatible with Raspbian and TVHeadEnd

Wed Aug 14, 2019 5:41 am

Hi!
Does anyone know of any cheap USB ATSC Tuners that are compatible with Raspbian and TVHeadEnd? My current project is to build a Raspberry Pi laptop out of a portable DVD player that can be used as a laptop, DVD player, and portable TV.

The TV HAT only supports DVB-T/DVB-T2. However, I live in the US. The only USB TV tuner I can find that suits my needs and is supported by Raspbian and TVHeadEnd is the WinTV-dualHD

However, this is very expensive, and I want the laptop to be as cheap as possible as I don't make much money.

Thanks

I suggest you view the list of linux compatible USB tuners and then buy an older one off of ebay. I've seen them quite cheap there.
