I have built a remoting system that I originally intended to be run off a battery and or solar panels. The system has an internal sealed lead acid battery that is supposed to act like a ups in the event of a power failure. The original solar charger has failed so I am now looking for a module that can charge a lead acid battery and supply about 20 watts of power continuously to various bits of instrumentation. However under most circumstances mains power should be available.
There are lots of units on the market, but I am worried that a lot of these units could be sub standard and damage the lead acid battery, and or over heat the enclosure, cause fires, or accidental explosions.
Can anyone recommend a high quality solar / mains charger unit at a reasonable price ?
