[SOLVED] Transmission on Raspberry Pi 3 stops download periodically

Sun Apr 14, 2019 9:15 pm

Hello, I have transmission downloaded on Raspbian on my Raspberry Pi 3.

I used this tutorial to set it up.

Initially, upon installing it, I had a lot of trouble with mounting my external HDD to be used by the Pi.

I thought I had it fixed, but the download gets to about 1/4 of the way complete and it shows this:

Image
Error: Unable to save resume file: Permission denied

But, the error is fixed when I just press the resume button and it continues to download. Occasionally, depending on the download size, it will happen again. But, it is resolved by once again resuming the download.

Is there any fix to this issue? I have IPvanish running in the background (on university wifi, tethered) and it seems to work fine when it doesn't randomly stop. I used this tutorial to fix an issue with my university's WiFi that did not allow me to SSH/access the web UI on my Pi while behind a VPN.

I can provide any additional info upon request.

Thanks!

EDIT:
Here are my logs related to this issue.

bump
Why bump ? It has only been 2 days, you will have to wait a bit longer (few weeks?) to find out if anybody knows about what you are doing.

I don't not know anything about your problem but I think I have noticed the VIP (very important paragraph) that might be related to your problem, it starts with "You also might want to change the ..." which sounds like a suitable explanation for the error "Permission denied" in the log files.

I use Deluge on my laptop and love it.
Is there a RPi program for it? Never looked into it.
I just liked the WebUI feature that transmission has. I know deluge has one, I've tried using it but my university blocks the ports that are specifically required to access it outside of my PC.

Whenever I setup Deluge, in RPi and/or other SBCs, I always refer to this guy's video. Have been very lucky so far (after more than 10 tries) ;)

I attempted to do it last night, but like I mentioned previously my school blocks the ports needed to use the WebUI/Deluge Daemon remotely, so I'm out of luck. Thanks for your help anyways!

Have you tried changing the daemon port number?
you might get lucky....

I can't find the config file to do so, and what would I change it to?

I didn't need to change the port number, but I somehow got it to work.
It works flawlessly unlike transmission did, and there are no permission issues.
I appreciate the recommendation for the program!
