4 cables for display 7 inchiostro pi3b+?

Thu Mar 14, 2019 10:44 pm

Monday I will get the official Raspberry 7 inch LCD

and I have 2 questions to ask you:

the first is knowing when to use the two additional cables can put on gpio for i2c and dsi.
do I have a pi3b and pi3b + should be used?
or just the 2 red and black cables? + 5v ground?

on which models should the 4 cables be used and on which only 2?

second question would the display on Pi zero w series work?

With the Pi 3B and 3 B+ you only need the power cables. The other 2 were for older Pis.

The build instructions from Adafruit

I would also check with the supplier of your purchase.

another thing, power supply that I now give to the Raspberry 5v 3A after mounting the display I will always have to do it on the pi3b + or insert it to the 7 inch LCD plate calculating that I would use the gpio?

You can also use Y micro USB cable or 2 power supplies. This would free up the 5v and ground GPIO pins.

If you use the GPIO pins, power the Pi and let the screen get the power from the Pi. If not you run the risk of getting lower power warnings.

No, the zeros do not have a DSI connector.
