V2V Communication

Wed Aug 29, 2018 1:17 am

Hello All,
I am new to Raspberry Pi and I am currently working on a project for school utilizing two Raspberry Pi 3 Model B's to simulate the on-board units inside the vehicle. My team is trying have the Raspberry Pi's communication with each other via an Ad-hoc network to simulate the IEEE 802.11p standard. We are going to use two vehicles that equipped with identical Raspberry Pi's. I am wondering if anyone else has tried a project like this before?

Hi,

I am trying the same here, do you find any products for this purpose?

I've earlier been toying with LoRaWAN stuff and I would also like to checkout 802.11p. So let's hope.

I am also interested.

It has been a couple of years since I delved into 802.11p on Raspberry Pi, but IIRC, having looked at code on kernel.org and elsewhere, I could not find a non-PCI driver that supported 802.11p correctly. I might be wrong.

Perhaps we should all give updates on what we have found so that we are not duplicating effort.
