Anyone familiar with Amescon PiLot Mainboard and/or Profibus module ?

Mon May 14, 2018 5:57 am

So last time I received amazing help via this forum which solved my problem.

however I still have one problem in my project.

Via RS-Components I have bought a Amescon PiLot mainboard with profibus module, the idea is simpel my project has to communicate with a system via the profibus protocol. on the RS component site there was some information about this product, and also a datasheet which looked verry promising, however when I recieved these modules, I found out there was no documentation, their website is empty (www.amescon.com)
they do not reply to their forum, Mail or telephone, So I had two more options to do ask you, this community, or to just leave it behind change my whole design and go for another module, which would be my last option...

so my question is, does anyone has some experiences with this brand or with these particular products ?

my main questions are :

which programming language, Python or C
Libraries
how to set up communication.

please let me know !

Their website works just fine for me....

except it has a lot of "lorem ipsum" dummy text.

that's what i mean, yes it loads but that all, no information, no data, no nothing, just a empty shell.
i found out that the successor of PiLot was Raspicomm+ so did a search on that, came a little further but still not to the point where i should have been.

with the wget command i tried to install their package just as they mention in a manual, but the files do not exist on the server......
