Claws Email

Sun Jun 19, 2016 8:49 pm

Hello Fellow Raspberry Pi users
I have been working a lot on the Pi 3 and have got Raspian working pretty well however I am not having much luck with setting up Claws email. Is there a blow by blow account somewhere on the web on this. I have Googled till the cows came home and have not found what I looking for. As a matter of interest I actually have the email service set up. My incoming mail is pop.yandex.com, my outgoing is smtp.yandex.com, however either I get timed out errors or no ssl handshake. I find this extremely frustrating. Any help would be very gratefully received. Rory Barrett

Hi Rory- you do have a choice of email clients...

Just recently both Firefox and Thunderbird have been 'reborn' from Iceweasel and Icedove for the Raspberry Pi.
I haven't used Claws, but have used Thunderbird for many years, and not just for the handy calendar feature- it handles gmail very well too. And there is plenty of discussion of it's features around the web... also I've found setting up Thunderbird a breeze on several machines.

Here's a thread about both; it drifts a bit but the basic info is there:
