mmal: main: Failed to create camera component

Tue May 24, 2016 9:23 am

Hi

Please help as I'm gloing mad!

I have 12 Raspberry Pi Camera (Rev 1.3) and hardly any of them work!

I plug them in (correctly) and run sudo raspi-config to enable camera module. After rebooting I go into LXterminal and try raspistill -o pic.jpg and get the following message:

Code: Select all

mmal: mmal_vc_component_create: failed to create component 'vc.ril.camera' (1:EN0MEM)
mmal: mmal_component_create_core: could not create component 'vc.ril.camera' (1)
mmal: Failed to create camera component
mmal: main: Failed to create camera component
mmal: Camera is not detected. Please check carefully the camera module is installed correctly.
I checked all the connectors and ribbons are firmly connected. What can I do next? Would it be worth getting some new ribbons? Or is it not a harware problem??

Any help gratefully received as we've spend £100s on these and still can't us them!

Are they detected with a vcgencmd?

Code: Select all

pi@odyssey:~$ vcgencmd get_camera
supported=1 detected=1
pi@odyssey:~$
Have you got

Code: Select all

gpu_mem=128
start_x=1
in your active config.txt?

I have heard this could well be a system error...but I have no proof of this.

I have this "mmal: mmal_vc_component_enable: failed to enable component: ENOSPC" now of two RPi with the latest strech updated as of 21.3.2019

Can someone please assist?
