Pi3 Z dimensions

Wonder if anyone can provide or point me towards the following dimensions:

Thickness of circuit board
Height of top of USB from surface of board
Clearance from bottom surface of board for component solder wires etc

Thanks RN but that document doesn't have Z dimensions, only X and Y.

Sorry about the mixup... According to my research, the Z axis is 56mm.

You are correct, 16 mm from the top of the circuit board to the top of the USB sockets.

The USB sockets are the highest component, but the Ethernet socket pins are a bit longer under the board. The USB sockets have an insulator under the socket (at least on the Pi2), the ethernet socket sits directly on the board.

I have not seen a mechanical drawing showing the Pi2 or 3 in profile, so I had to take my own measurements when I dimensioned my stack case, see pics in my post. I have a page of measurements, or you can just make your own, a caliper is less than $10. If you need another dimension besides the height, feel free to ask here:

I have measurements for pretty much every part shown there, the Pi2, the hat dac, PiDrive, spacers and screws.

"Thickness of circuit board" this PCB seems to have the normal thickness of 1.6mm

"Height of top of USB from surface of board" top USB? look it up in the data sheets of a double USB connector, they should all be basically be the same height. and see above answers.

"Clearance from bottom surface of board for component solder wires etc" without an enclosure I would say "infinite", with an enclosure, it depends on the enclosure!

just buy the thing, and a caliper.

I was looking for the same information. Do the people responsible for the official mechanical drawings check here, or is it worth a email?

It would SUPER handy for the official drawings to include the orthogonal projections. It would certainly aid in home brew enclosures. Even better, could Raspberry PI just supply STEP files?

If you are performing a single enclosure prototype
this can help you.

Information sources:
YOUR own home,
We are surrounded by HARDWARE, as it is made the Raspberry Pi ...

If you have a computer,
you can measure LAN AND USB connectors, among others.

If you have flat Television.
you can measure HDMI, AUDIO connectors, among others.

If you have mobile
you can measure MINI USB connectors, among others.

etc..
PDF plane location as discussed above it ..

But if you want to make a production of enclosures.
My advice is to buy a Raspberry Pi before to make checks before putting
producing 100%..

I definitely seem to have misunderstood the purpose of this forum ... whilst some replies were genuine attempts to help and are appreciated that's now twice I've been told to go buy a Pi and measure it myself. Well, when my latest batch of 3 arrive I will have 20 of them so I don't need to buy one just to measure. I am just going to order some 25mm spacers and see if they will provide adequate separation. Not convinced I will be asking any more questions on this forum though ...
