Any word from Newark (US/Canada)

As Newark seems to be operating completely separate from Farnell, I figure that there should be a separate thread for customers seeking info.

We all know that some of the first 4000+ made it to north america, and we also know that many people in the UK and EU are already receiving their RPi from the new May batch of 30000. I also know from postings in this forum and the Element14 community forums that some of these people ordered on days as late as 1 to 5 March.

I personally ordered at 8:54am EST on 29 Feb and don't have any information since the generic email sent out on 1 May. My order confirmation number was 1621xx and I've got no information.

Has anyone gotten an RPi from Newark out of the new batches?

Has anyone heard details of what is going on and why Newark customers are being left so far behind our Farnell friends?

Have you checked your order history on Newark.com.

I didn't place an order with Newark until March 20th, but do have a confirmed ship date of June 18th via the website. A lot of Newark ship dates have moved forward from August to June within the last 2 weeks.

I probably check 25-30 times a day on the Newark Canada website, just like I did ten seconds before checking this forum. I still have no date at all, just says "back ordered" in both status boxes. Again seems odd that Newark Canada is that different from Newark as they are the same company with just one telephone number.

I ordered through the Newark Canada website. I was way late to the game......just ordered mine on may.2. (I don't expect mine any time soon!) It does however list the August 16th date as an expected ship date. If for some reason yours doesn't list an expected ship date, it may be worth calling them to confirm everything is good.

I ordered mine on Mar 05 2012, and says June 18th. To see your estimated ship date, go here: https://www.newark.com/jsp/profile/myOrderHistory.jsp

Log in, all that good stuff, and there should be a column for PO Number. Click the number that your rPi is on, and it should have the estimated delivery date in there. I think you were just on the wrong page to see the ship date.

I ordered on March 1st, at the time it told me the ship date would be May 11th. On May 29th I got notified that it was shipping, and as of today the UPS tracking number says delivery date is June 5th. I live in California. Hope this helps.

Oh, and also, it came to $43.07 including shipping and tax.

Ordered from Newark Canada, says March 6, delivery date still says "back order."

I ordered mine (Newark US) on April 19th. It has the ship date listed as August 16th.

It did jump to July 8th (or somewhere around there) for a day... then it went back to august 16th.

Same here. Ordered 04/20, current ship date is 08/16.

Completed my order with Newark Canada on March 6th, and I finally received my PI on June 29th.
