Code: Select all

Arch: armv6l

It looks like you've got the RPi2B version of Kodi that you're trying to run on your RPi1 (or zero). You can tell it's a RPi1 because the RPi2B would load a 4.1.13-v7+ kernel.

Re: Kodi 15 Packages for Raspbian Wheezy & Jessie for RPi2

Hello to you all.
I am trying to install kodi on top of raspbian jessie. I looked at the official repository and the latest supported version is 15.2 but when I install it with sudo apt-get install I see 15.1. What do I need to do to install the latest official release?
Also with 15.1 when I exit from kodi I got black screen. Only when I start the program from terminal using kodi-standalone command it exits normally to the desktop.
I did the changes mentioned in the first post regarding the account and the groups.
Are there any additional configuration that needs to be done?

kodi-standalone is required to restore the screen.
The version in the repository is 15.1. To get 15.2 with a number of patches by popcornmix, download the version I compiled (OP). This version also contains an alternate start script (startkodi) and a patched Desktop file using it.

if someone is willing to do that. It needs a careful checking of dependencies.
I won't because all my systems have been updated to Jessie and I don't see any reason why someone wants to stick to Wheezy,

Hi, I installed kodi on jessie following the steps of the first post and it works ok.
The problem is that my tv control remote don´t works....

I tried to install libcec3, but I receive this message:

Code: Select all

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo apt-get install libcec3
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package libcec3 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source

E: Package 'libcec3' has no installation candidate
What´s the problem?

The downloaded tar file contains a number of additional packages which are needed for this version:
cec-utils_3.0.1-2_armhf.deb libcec-dev_3.0.1-2_armhf.deb
dcadec_20150816-1_armhf.deb libdvdcss_1.2.12-0_armhf.deb
libcec_3.0.1-2_armhf.deb python-libcec_3.0.1-2_armhf.deb
libcec3_3.0.1-2_armhf.deb
all of them should have been installed by the install script.
If you did not use the install script, cd into this folder and run
sudo dpkg -i *

I have a problem with the installation of Kodi on Jessi.
Kodi works after finishing all the steps, however when I reboot the RBpi2 it gives a black screen.

No idea, perhaps your SD card (file system) got damaged somehow. Doesn't it boot at all or how far do you get?

It boots, but at the moment where normally the desktop is show it just stays black.
When I reinstal the Jessie image on the SD card everything works fine again and it boots.
I've tried installing kodi a couple of times but with the same black screen after closing Kodi and after booting.

Try installing it from the repository (version 15.1) using apt-get.
You get a black screen after closing kodi if you start it with "kodi" instead of "kodi-standalone" or startkodi (my version only).

I've also tried that, with apt-get install kodi, but this gave the same result.
After Kodi is installed nothing works, the browser quits when entering a site and rebooting gives a black screen.

How did you install Raspbian Jessie (NOOBS or image)? If image, did you resize the EXT4 partition?

I used the image, but I didn't resize the EXT4 partition.
Could this be the problem? Is there a guide which describes how this is done?

In a terminal type "sudo rasp-config". Choose the first option. Then finish and the Pi will reboot. That's it.

Firstly thanks a lot for sharing your work!
I'm looking for a matching IPTV client for your KODI 15 on Jessie.
I found that you are refering to pipplware for this topic. Do you have a link to share? The link I found on one of the posts seams to be not working...
