We have issues with the raid array, someone from bytemark support is onsite at the datacenter investigating it at the moment.

I agree on the backup server, i've tried to arrange one in the past but not got anything to actually happen. Anyone out there fancy donating a server with a few terrabytes of diskspace and a gigabit internet connection for use as a warm spare?

ok, Bytemark replaced the write cache module in the server's raid controller and got the server back up. They also advised me that there may be failed drives in the array and I should check with hpacucli. Unfortunately while I was doing so the server crashed again (I suspect the two are related but I don't know for sure).

Bytemark are continuing to investigate.

Any Idea when it will be running, I'm busy setting up for the first time and couldn't get any installs working.

yeah, it's up again now, apparently in addition to the write cache card failure we also had a drive failure. The drive has been replaced and the array is now rebuilding.

Right now the server is up but it seems to have been suffering some serious hardware instability recently
