NAS copy and paste

Sun May 03, 2015 4:35 pm

Hi,

I need help to setup a NAS with raspberry pi2 and two external hard drives. I want to be able to access files (music and video) from the drives on my android phone and tablet wirelessly. I also want to be able to transfer files from my android devices to the NAS wirelessly. Can someone guide me what software I need to install? Step by step instructions would be ideal.

Not sure if it's the best solution for your specific needs, but when I need to transfer files I enable SSH and install WinSCP. Quite easy to use.

First, you need an app for your droid that can access SMB shares - FileExplorer with the SMB plugin works.

Second, you need to configure a Pi to work like a NAS.
