It's good to hear that a lot of folk are about to receive their Pi's, and some even have them in their hands already.

Others have also been given specific w/c dates in May, and even as late as 4th June, and I think a lot (including me!) are still just being told 'by the end of June'.

Has anyone been given an actual date later than w/c 4th June yet please, so that we can get a better idea of their shipping schedule, which at the moment appears to be almost weekly?

Thanks!

seems like farnell isn't going to send my Pi today..... hopefully they will tomorrow

(although i have no idea of the times they send shipments out, so there's still a chance)

Probably worth pointing out that the email I got last week said w/c 21/05/12, and mine was actually shipped yesterday, so if anything they seem to be a good bit ahead of schedule.

That is good news indeed… I hope it arrives in time for the Bank Holiday weekend.

I just hope that mine will be delivered ahead of schedule also!

Was your order marked as "Complete" yesterday? Also, did you get a tracking number? Mine did though I didn't get a tracking number and I've taken the risk of working from home in the hope it turns up today!

The orders are being shipped by Royal Mail second class not UPS which is why there is no tracking number.

Hopefully the majority of people will get theirs before the bank holiday!

I know we are getting 'free' delivery, but it is a shame that they couldn't at least have sent them by 1st Class post... especially just before a long weekend, here in the U.K.

Are you sure it was second class? i've seen farnell use UPS and first class post but I don't think i've ever seen them use second class post.

I'm going on the previous posts in this thread from those who have either called up Farnell or already received their Pis.

It was marked as complete on Wednesday and I didn't have a tracking number. Came via royal mail and put through the door.

You're kidding?! Farnell's default delivery option is next day delivery and is on all their orders! Previous RasPis from the first batch were sent out via UPS

I'm not exactly happy about this…

Though saying that, the posty has literally just driven down my drive, it better be here!

Edit: it hasn't arrive. To say I'm annoyed is an understatement

Farnell's default delivery option is "standard delivery (usually next working day)" in practice this seems to mean they send it either UPS or first class post. Unfortunately they seem to have a habbit of sending stuff by first class post too late for it to arrive the next working day.

My Pi has just arrived! (got despatch email on Wednesday).

It was in fact posted by Royal Mail 2nd Class. On the other hand, my delivery estimate was week commencing 7th, so I can't really complain – got it way ahead of schedule ayway.

My Pi arrived yesterday after the despatch email from the day before from Farnell with a 1st Class postage label - there are some random numbers (like an 02 under the Royal Mail text) but the actual postage block has a very clear 1 on it.

My colleague was notified yesterday and got his today, again same style label.

Both went through the letterboxes.

Good point, I really shouldn't complain - and I shouldn't have assumed it was next day delivery via UPS (though it is a fair assumption!)
