HD to DVI-D

Tue Apr 23, 2013 5:00 am

I've recently started setting up my Pi, and ran into a problem.
I have a Gateway FPD1775W, which has DVI-D with HDCP. When I bough the pi, i also bought the hd to dvi adapter.
But the monitor is not working with the pi.
I connected to another video only screen using the yellow video cable, and it works fine.

Your Pi might not be detecting that it is connected to a monitor when using a HDMI to DVI-D cable. It is possible you may need to set "hdmi_force_hotplug=1" in the config.txt file in the /boot directory. This will disable the auto-detect and force the Pi to use the HDMI output.
