Can't resize windows or close them by clicking the X after I used the 'Openbox Configuration Manager'

Mon Dec 30, 2019 11:51 pm

I used the 'Openbox Configuration Manager' application to change a few openbox settings, and now I can't resize or move windows or close them with the X, even after reverting the changes! I've had this problem before, and the only way I fixed it was by reinstalling. Do I need to reinstall again?

(The only app responding to drag/resize/close is Chromium)

Flash drive for backups and swap

This thread may help to restore the config file: https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/view ... 1&t=245458
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated Raspbian Buster w/ Desktop OS.

That solution fixed the problem, thanks! However, is there any way to change the settings without the described problems occuring?

Yes, you can restore one of the screen defaults (Preferences → Appearance Settings → Defaults: pick one), then

Code: Select all

sudo apt update
sudo apt -y full-upgrade
then reboot.

Assuming you're running Buster, this should allow obconf to run without messing everything up
