Lucky you! I ordered 21 June from RS, ref 844**, and I still haven't heard anything from DHL. It is 9 weeks now - that's how long they said I should wait, but now I see everyone passing me in the queue.JTrevorJ wrote:The gods were listening. This morning I got an e-mail from RS with a brief but adequate apology for the lack feedback and the news that my order would be shipped this coming Monday. Yipee!JTrevorJ wrote:My order was placed with RS on 2nd June. "Order reference number is: 93482". I can't get any reply from RaspberryPi@rswww.com when I try to progress the order.
Anybody got a lower ref.no.?
To be fair to to RS, I was given an expected 10 weeks delivery on the 22nd of June and that's more or less what I got.
Indeed. They make us wait 11 weeks, which is fine by me since I knew this when I paid. But then they ignore our questions. I've sent 4 mails (the first one a month ago) and none of them have been answered. That's no way to treat customers.drq883 wrote:Paul,
I am 7 weeks into my 12 week wait. My complaint with RS is not the delivery wait, I agreed to that when I ordered it. My complaint is the fact that they don't answer any email I've sent to them using an email listed on their receipt. If they print a "contact us" with an email address on any correspondence, they should have the decency to reply. Even if it is a "automatic" reply.
Today I received one e-mail from RS. According to them, my RPi "should be dispatched by the end of September". It's sad to know that some users ordered this after me and they already have it...DaveSemm wrote:I was going to carry on waiting patiently without grumbling, but I was annoyed to see some people who ordered late have already received theirs, while I ordered in June (#844xx) from RS and have still not heard a peep from DHL; it has been 9 weeks now.
I was also alarmed to see that shipments might not happen if an accesory is out of stock - is that true? I ordered it with the clear case; will I be informed if I have to wait for more cases to be manufactured?
I'm in South Africa - are the fast deliveries in Europe only? If I order another one from RS now, will it arrive before the 1st order?
I am in the exactly the same (if somewhat worse?) boat. 8159x, clear case, registered interest on the very first day with RS at a quarter past six in the morning.DaveSemm wrote:I was going to carry on waiting patiently without grumbling, but I was annoyed to see some people who ordered late have already received theirs, while I ordered in June (#844xx) from RS and have still not heard a peep from DHL; it has been 9 weeks now.

Finally got a reply, guess they are catching up on emails.Diod wrote: ...

From RS?? - really???Finally got a reply,
Haha, yes, well the reply was indeed fairly generic. Still, it was a reply to my last mail, not my 3 previous mails (which contained the same questions) and they apologized for the delay. No idea why it took so long though...simplesi wrote:From RS?? - really???Finally got a reply,
or was it just an auto-reponders coming back on line

Simon, I agree with you on everything except for your #2 possibility. RS and Farnell are the ones producing the boards, not the foundation. So if anything, there's something wrong with RS's production rate.simplesi wrote:Well
1. RS could have a lot more orders than Farnell
and/or
2. RS might not be ordering in in the same quantities as Farnell
Its a combination of the 2 points that's causing the problems and the lack of any public information that's giving them a bad rep.

Everybody got a 10 digit order number, I registered at the first half hour and my order number was 10100073xx, but the number shown in my confirmation email was 73xx.Uncle Nelli wrote:I ordered on 04 Aug from RS and was given an order ref : 1010175xxx
(Where are people getting 5- or 6-digit refs from - mine is 10-digits!!!)
It came with a quote of "Despatch (sic) expected within 17 week(s)"
