No internal cpu temp or voltage sensor on Pi 4?

Sun Aug 18, 2019 6:48 am

Is there really no cpu temp sensor on the pi 4? And no power voltage sensor? Can anyone recommend solutions? Looking to connect the sensors to the pi so it can be monitored remotely.

You can also use vcgencmd measure_volts to monitor the core voltage.

As an alternative to measure CPU temperature you can use the following from a terminal:

Code: Select all

cat /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/temp
You can also add the "CPU Temperature" panel applet to the task bar on the Raspbian desktop.

There is (AFAICT) no measurement of the 5V supply.
Only the power light which goes out when the supply is below 4.65V.
This can be monitored with

Code: Select all

vcgencmd get_throttled
which summarises both under-voltage and over-temperature events.

There is a basic power supply voltage monitor, but it only says if the voltage is high enough or not. It can be accessed through some of the flags on vcgencmd get_throttled.

One of the chip internal voltages can be measured with vcgencmd measure_volts
