Script files disappear from Home Directory

Wed Jul 31, 2019 4:10 pm

Folks,

Been driving myself mad here. Trying to set something up on my Raspberry Pi I created a couple of scripts in my home directory to easily configure some settings on reboot.

Every time I reboot the script files disappear from my home directory. I am baffled what is happening here, it only seems to happen to script files, all others appear to remain.

Code: Select all

sync
before you

Code: Select all

reboot
If that doesn't work, check your SD card with h2testw

are you using Raspbian, or something else?

does anyone else have access to the machine?

is there anything unexpected in your crontab? ("crontab -l" to list it)

are you rebooting properly or just pulling the power?

Very likely your SD card has gone into read only mode, time to replace the card.
