Raspberry UPS

Mon Jul 29, 2019 7:52 am

Hello,
I need an UPS for my Rpi3.

I have found a few threads suggesting to use a pass through power bank connected to the Raspberry and I like the idea.

My question is simple, has anyone implemented this idea and is satisfied? Is there any cons?

Last question, what could be a good quality advisable power bank with pass through and able to stand continuous charging?

Thanks,
Dan

All I see at the link is a Pi Zero only, crowdfunding project that might ship in October, not a product that can be purchased and used with a Pi3.

Am I missing something?

Different product that they're crowdfunding at the moment. The full sized HAT is https://uk.pi-supply.com/products/pijuice-standard

Thanks for the link.

I'd even used their search using a copy paste of the name in the post, Pi Juice, and this is what it showed.

Yeah. It is doing exact match and the name is PiJuice so search doesn't find it.

Apologies about the mix up

One option is to plug the Raspberry Pi's power supply into a normal UPS and manage it with NUT (Network UPS Tools). I have 3 Pi's and all my Internet devices plugged into a CyberPower CP1350PFCLCD. I get around 90 minutes of run time and all the Pi's shutdown gracefully when the UPS is nearly exhausted. The NUT software is very small and runs in the background along with whatever else the Pi's are doing.
