rasbian stretch rpi3b+ case pidesktop

Wed May 29, 2019 10:31 pm

Hi , i just bought a
rpi 3b+
usb stick
case pi desktop

I put the latest rasbian stretch OS desktop on the usb stick
when i push the button on the case it starts to start the OS and the light is going on
but when pushing the button for closing it does nothing!
when sudo shutdown the board goes off, but the bluelight from the case stays on...
Is there a scipt for this case (pi desktop) in combination with rasbian stretch?

i like to shutdown the os + the case light with this button at a decent way.
I thought that this extra board in the case was taking care for that...

Do you mean this case https://uk.farnell.com/element14/pi-des ... dp/2687142

Does the instruction manual say anything as it’s not available unless you have an Element 14 account and I do not have one...
Need Pi spray - these things are breeding in my house...

As long as power is applied to the system, anything connected to the +5V rail will be powered. Assuming that's how the case LED is connected, the only way to turn it off is to remove power.

In addition, when the system is booted from USB the USB ports will also remain powered (as will any devices connected to USB, which will continue to draw power).

The only way to fully turn off a Pi computer is to disconnect the power (after a software shutdown).
My mind is like a browser. 27 tabs are open, 9 aren't responding,
lots of pop-ups...and where is that annoying music coming from?

I solved it.. power up is hardware defined.
For a shutdown you have to push the big button for 2sec and install pidesktop-base-1.1.0.deb
I thougt that this software was a complete OS, but is only the functions of the addon card so i can add it at my raspbian stretch now..

It works like a charm....
