As with all past RPi releases, news and specs will be posted in the blog here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/
Unless specified otherwise my response is based on the latest and fully updated Raspbian Buster w/ Desktop OS.

Here, the main raspberrypi.org site and the Blog. It will also be announced on the raspberrypi twitter acoount and other social media accounts.

Nothing will be officially announced about the Pi 4 until it goes on sale.

I cannot imagine a Raspberry Pi 4 being launched and my not hearing about it almost immediately from somewhere on the net if I don't happen to visit here first.

As they say: "Watch this space".

Actually...that's NOT the usual question. Rather--while it might be trivial (where else but the official RPF site would one expect to find important breaking news about Pis?)--it's not the sort of question that would get a thread deleted or locked.

And to add to the overall information... IT news sites like The Register or Tom's Hardware will almost certainly carry the announcement as well. One might even find out from the BBC News site as they tend to cover the Pi from time to time.

The title states "future of raspberry pi" which will likely get all sorts of answers about this unanswerable conundrum

So have change title of this response :D

The first rule of Pi is: You do not talk about Pi future. The second rule of Pi is: You do not talk about Pi future.

I used to go there quite often until it was redesigned. Now I don't visit it any more. I get the Blog posts as RSS feeds.

Major product releases on the blog, but also lots of other websites as review hardware and press releases is usually sent out prior to actual release, but under NDA and with specific release times. So most tech websites will know about the relase just beforehand, so their news articles will be pretty up to date.

You won't miss stuff, and I suspect the Pi4 will make quite a big splash.

Liquid helium. We were going to use nitrogen, but that is SO passé.

We are pretty sure each Pi4 will need one or two of these, but reckon that's a good trade off for the extra performance. It's going to make the footprint a little larger. And you do need a refrigeration unit as well, so power requriements are a little higher too.

That would also solve the problem the guy from CERN had, where he wanted to know if a Pi could be run at -200C. Of course, if the Pi defaults to liquid Helium temperatures, the quest would then be....can it be run if heated to -200C?

I imagine Liquid helium will be soo cool that the cost of the pi can go to an ABSOLUTE ZERO. :D

Also i heard someone tell that pi 4 will be clocked at 3.5 ghz...
That's quite less for a pi4 with 16gb ram and 16 cores right.. :D

On a more serious note :- I am really surprised as to how you all come up with such good computers like pi 3b+ at such low costs..
Indeed it helps so many across the world... Real great work by the RPF and RPi(trading)..
One can also use it in place of a real computer(i know this comment attracts a debate usually) and learn so much about computers and linux

There's no debate, the Pi is a REAL computer!

My argument would be that if your code is so bad it requires more than 1GB of RAM, then it's the code that isn't real.....
