Not able to pump Broadcast traffic from Pi

Mon Apr 29, 2019 9:36 am

Hi,

I have one Pi device in my network. i want to run Unicast, Boradcost and multicast traffic from Pi devices to other Machine.
I could run Unicast and Multicast traffic from to Pi device to other machine.

But i m not able to pump Broadcast traffic from the Pi. Is that the Pi device supports Broadcast traffic or we need to change any configuration in Pi ?.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

What do you mean by 'broadcast' - its a very 'loose' term in computing?

Do you mean streaming a service like the BBC radio / TV?

Do you mean publishing that you provide print / file / other services to other machines?

Do you mean send a message to all users on that machine?

Do you mean something like Python and sockets to send raw data between machines?

Do you mean something like neccat and sending to all machines on the network?

Are you talking LAN or out to the internet?
Need Pi spray - these things are breeding in my house...

JFI Some routers/switches suppress TCP/IP broadcasts so that can bring such projects to a halt
