My router has been rebooting every hour or so due to some malfunction. Expect some trouble accessing the site here and there. :(

UPDATE

Website had not cached the site, that is why the site has been slightly slow. I had tried fixing it earlier today but it resulted in breaking the website. I have reinstalled wordpress, and have used a backup from this morning (6 AM). Everything is working as it should. I have found the reason why the website was not caching; there was an automatic exclusion to all URLs that contained "index.php". Almost all URLs on my site contain this. Hopefully we should be getting a faster site now. :)

Cool website. Low latency. The site works great on my Pi3B.
Your url could be better tho. Go take a look at freedns.afraid.org. They give you more options. I suggest the k.vu one :)

Thanks. I have looked at freedns before, but the many subdomains they have are either long, or too short to be memorable. Domain names with with short domains such as raspberrypi.org or bbc.co.uk are memorable because they have .org, .net, .com, etc. Something like .mooo.info is probably not too memorable because you might forget how many o's in mooo.

They have raspberryip.com and over 62 000 other names. There *might* be a better one than dynu on there.

Ahaha your probably correct :) One of the other reasons why i use dynu is because the company has a tutorial to setup a script that checks my ISP IP given to me to see if changes. This saves me a bit of time since I dont have to worry about my ip changing. Also it is a bit too late now as I have already setup https.

Big update!
  • Moved website from Pi Zero W to a Pi 3B

Installed new caching plugin with minification

    Website speed greatly improved

Slowly going through images and optimizing them - compressing and converting to jpg format.

    Issues:

Caching plugin only caches pages unfortunately, not tag pages. I will try and find a fix for this.
If anyone knows of a Wordpress plugin that can minify css, JavaScript and allow an exclude list to prevent certain Css files from being minifed as well as an advanced cache option, please post a link

Enjoy fast speeds on our site :)

p.s. Got in touch with the dev of my cache plugin. He/she is trying to work out why tag pages are not cached. Currently, only the homepage, posts and other pages are cached.

Just having read to see what it's like.
How easy was it to setup ?

Anyway the A+ had already been upgraded to 512MB back in mid 2016, just over two years before the 3A+ was released.
I can only guess it was cheaper to make it 512MB with the Zero having the same setup.

Also we were anticipating the 3A way back then too.

Do you mean the website or the verium miner?
The website was pretty easy to get started up, I just used the Raspberry Pi LAMP tutorial.
The verium miner is easy as well, just pop an Sd card with the miner image and your good to go. The hardest part was looking for top mining pools that were available, many of them required you to have an invite due to the lack of people on other pools. They wanted to spread the people out between pools for best performance. Honestly the people that use rigs on these type of coins most likely make a small profit at most. The coin value is very low, you gotta keep your rig up and running whilst justifying electricity costs.

Nice to know, I thought the Model A had been outdated for over a couple of years. My guess is that they wanted a medium sized machine. Cost is between a pi zero or a pi 3b+. I have switched to a Pi 3B for my web server, and there was a drastic change in performance, most likely due to higher clockspeed and extra cores. I am pretty sure if I used a 3A+ rather than 3B, I could increase the speed a bit more, my web server is more CPU intensive than memory intensive.
