Using buttons to play video backwards and forwards?

Tue Nov 13, 2018 7:31 pm

Hello,

I am reaching out to ask if this is something that's possible with a Raspberry Pi.

I am looking to set up an interactive for a museum, where the visitor can press two buttons to control a video.
If they press the left button the video would play backwards, if they press the right button it would play forwards from the same point it left off.

Would this be possible, and if so how?
Thanks!

Do you mean that it should still play the video in 1x speed but backwards ? With or without sound ? Which video format ?

I believe many digital video codecs are not really made for backwards playing, so I havent seen this feature much. ( but then again very few people need this )
