RPI 3B+ custom kernel wlan0 issues

Fri Jul 27, 2018 4:36 am

Hi, i compiled a kernel for Rpi 3B+ following the instructions from https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... uilding.md.
The build is successful and I am able to boot the kernel. However, Wi-Fi stops working and there is no wlan0 interface when i run the command ifconfig -a. Is there any additional step I need to do to get Wi-Fi working?
Thanks in advance :)

I suppose you're missing the required non-free firmware?
If you can apt-get Raspbian packages directly I think some of these would do.

(On buildroot the build chain pulls the .bin file from that OpenElec repo, I'd be interested in knowing if I could get the firmware from an RPF maintained repo instead.)
