There's a workaround to get the RPi 3 B+ to boot Windows 10 IoT. The wifi seems to not have any drivers yet, but bluetooth dongles still work. Link below:

I tried to run it on RPi3B+. Nothing comes up. Also, the insider preview version does not work.
I tried to do the workout link (https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forum ... WindowsIoT), but, it is confusing and doesn't worth it.

We may need to get RPi 3 (non +) or wait 3 months.

Hi,

I just jumped into raspberry Pi, been coding in C#, was bummed to find out IoT wasn't supported for the 3B+.

https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forum ... WindowsIoT

If you scroll to the bottom:
[There will be a public preview for Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ soon
if nothing unforeseen occurs may be later this month

No, I’ll be honest, I’m a complete newb. I’m hoping the release they talk about is newb friendly?

I did try to get it to work in the end of april, just following the Microsoft guide for starting out, and it didn’t work.

Took me about 2-3 weeks to figure out that IoT wasn’t supported yet. I have not tried to get it working using the workarounds posted in a couple of those topics.

Is the insider preview something I should look at?

The Insider Preview is basically a Testing Branch, you will need a Microsoft Account !

Ask Microsoft as it is their Software, though they recently released Insider Preview version 17672 which may be worth a try ??

I also have recently purchased a Pi 3 + and have spent hours googling and trying this method and that method, i took a small victory dance after getting the 10 loT core installed and booting. I have a starter kit that came with a display so i can see that it booted up. Hooked up a keyboard and mouse to the usb. VERY impressed with how nice this all worked until.... they key component i need... doesn't work. It does not see the ethernet. I must have a rj45 connection, it must be on a network or none of this means anything :(.

I have scoured across the internet and reached the end of my rope. My next step is to try the pi 3 (without the +) and see if that works.

I was sooo excited that i got my loT core license and could start building on this device but i am stuck now :(

Insider Preview version 17133: will not work without a bit of tweaking (Pi 3 B+).
Follow these steps to get it to boot;

https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forum ... WindowsIoT

Still trying to fix the Lan issue.
Doesn't detect at all.
Anyone had any luck?

Maybe your comments should be addressed to Microsoft, whose Operating System you wish to use: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... /downloads

You need to have a Microsoft Account and use the Insider Preview Release version 17744 which I stated above

Since the last reply was a few months ago, I wanted to say I have a RPi 3b+ running Windows IoT Core.

Known Issues:
  • WiFi and BLE are not working with these steps (Ethernet does work)
I used the IoT Core Dashboard: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/window ... /downloads
I downloaded the 17661 preview build (.iso) from here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softwar ... windowsiot
I used 7zip to extract the .iso file.
I used 7zip to extract the .msi file within the new folder.
Then using the IoT Core Dashboard, in "Setting up a new device", specify a custom OS build by selecting the Windows_10_IoT_Core_RPi3B+.ffu file from the new folder created by extracting the .msi.

I did not realize at first those extraction steps were needed. They are are not documented. Once I got past that, my RPi 3b+ booted up. It does take a few minutes the first go round.

I hope this helps...
