RPi 3 going portable - suitable battery

Hi all,
I would like to run my RPi 3 portable and I am looking for some suggestions regarding suitable batteries to run it. I'll also have attached GPS and IMU sensors, which will draw some extra current. There seem to be a few battery packs suitable for the Pi, like this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/WINGONEER-Lith ... berry+pi+3 However, at 1.8A, I'm not sure if this will be sufficient to power the Pi and other add ons.
I could use a power bank, suitable for charging mobile phones. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the best option might be please?

Depending on how long you need the device to run any USB phone battery should be fine. I use a 2600mAh @ 1 amp battery for powering a pi zero w dashboard cam and that lasts for a few hours. I have also used 20000+mAh @ 2 amp on a pi 2 based camera to check up on my dogs. These where good for 8 hours of picture taking and still had about 2 thirds of charge left. From the sounds of your project any battery that has a 2 amp output should be fine as long as its not quick/fast charge enabled as the pis could get damaged by a quickcharge port.

Probably running for 2 - 3 hours max I'd imagine.

First thing you need to do is measure the actual current consumption of your hardware while it's doing what you want it to do when on battery.
Convert that to power in watts (multiply by 5V).
Multiply by the run time to give energy in Watt-hours.
Convert that to ampere-hours at the battery voltage (usually 3V7, so divide the Watt-hours by 3.7)
That will tell you the absolute minimum battery capacity you need. In practice you should add 20% to allow for conversion losses and less than nominal capacity as the battery ages.

I use some Power Bank similar to this one:
Anker PowerCore 20100 - Ultra High Capacity Power Bank

is easy to use and provides plenty of power. Should be sufficient for most mobile applications...

Two data points...

Pi0W+3.5" LCD, 12+ hours on a 4Ah powerbank.

Pi2Bv1.1, minikeyboard, mouse, RPF WiFi dongle + RPF 7" screen: 5 hours on a 10.4Ah powerbank.

By a very rough calculation - I'd need about 12 Ah at the very most, so the link posted above looks good to me.
