Setup FileZilla

Fri Dec 20, 2013 12:51 pm

Hi,
How do I install FileZilla?

I want to setup FileZilla on my Raspberry Pi, I want my PC to have full acess to every single file on the Pi. Does anyone know how I would go about granting permissions?

install winscp on your PC
then connect to the RPI over the network
for access to every file you will have to add a password to the root account and access the RPi via that

you don't need filezilla

@RattuS is correct is saying "you don't need filezilla" on your Pi, but, if you already have it installed on your PC you can use it as an SFTP client (port 22, rather than port 21) connected to your Pi via it's local network IP address (eg. 192.168.0.91 **) and your Pi's user name (pi?) and password.
Trev.
**this is only an example - replace with your Pi's actual IP address.
Still running Raspbian Jessie or Stretch on some older Pi's (an A, B1, B2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W, 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, A+ and a B2) but Buster on the P4B's. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm

Thanks, I did that and it worked! :D How can I access my USB drive though as Transmission downloads are going there not to the actual Pi.

Thanks

OK, nice, but how do I install FileZilla on RaspberryPi?

I already downloaded: FileZilla_3.27.0.1_i586-linux-gnu.tar.bz2 , and have no idea what to do with it.

Delete it (the bz2-file) and install FileZilla in the usual way from the standard repository:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install filezilla
Easy and it just works.
