Berryboot file sistem backup

Sat May 06, 2017 3:01 pm

Hi guys I have a problem with berryboot, I'd like to make a backup of my Raspbian OS with all data and programs but when I try to do it in the berryboot menù it tells me that I need to insert a usb driver even if it is already connected. I didn't get which is the problem

as far as i remember when i last time play berryboot
the backup and restore of OS's to USB stick is its best ( and fastest ) feature.
try a other / empty USB stick.

-a- did you try to boot with connected USB stick or "hot plug" ?
-b- in the menu you not find the usb drive OR it "tell you" some error msg?

update:
i just loaded a berryboot raspbian into berryboot
some small changes,
reboot
and put in a usb stick,
berryboot menu BACKUP
original + mod
to sda1
after 9 min reboot to raspbian and check usb stick:

Code: Select all

pi@RPI0:~ $ df
Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda1 15623040 3176768 12446272 21% /media/pi/APACER16GB
pi@RPI0:~ $ ls -la /media/pi/APACER16GB/
total 3176772
-rw-r--r-- 1 pi pi 3252965376 Jan 1 1980 MODIFIED-Debian_Jessie_Raspbian_2016.11.img192
sadly after update / upgrade RASPBIAN system ( to 4.9.24-v7 ?)
it not booted any more ( tested 2 times )

may be usb stick is w/o partition?
i.e. system has /dev/sda only.

When I go to the berry boot menù option to backup my OS it tells me: "no USB stick detected". USB is without partition and it's formatted in FAT32

need MBR + single partition + format FAT32 this partition

PS better use SDFormatter for format USB stick

when you have that ( any ) usb stick in the RPI ( while you run RASPBIAN )
and you try command
df
raspbian see the usb stick?, it calls it ? sda1 ?
i know its not same OS like berryboot but its a good start, if raspbian see a stick you remember the drive name ?sda..?
and reboot to berryboot menu. it should also see it ( unless it is a 64GB.. or other special drive where
berryboot could have only older driver / be unable to mount )
if you not see any usb stick ( in raspbian or berryboot ) possibly USB port bad?
you see a blinking LED in the usb stick when you connect it?

In Raspbian I can use the USB stick and it's called sda1 but when I reboot the sistem I have the same problem, I try to connect the usb to another usb port but it's the same
