GPIO Bi-directional 5V Breakout boards

Thu Sep 20, 2012 10:46 pm

I have developed a series of breakout boards that
  • Transaltes ALL GPIO signals on 26 way connector to 5V levels
    ALL signals fully bi-directional
Actually you can add your own rail to set the translated side between 3.3 and 5.5V
Signals on 5V side have built in ESD protection up to 15kV
Isolation of board from Pi if either power rail fails on the translaters
Expansion connector can be added to cable to more I2C devices on other boards
Prototyping area with breadboard style tracking on 0.1 inch pitch
GPIO signals brought out to labelled holes for soldering wires to
All boards plug directly onto GPIO connector - no cable to make or buy
Range of tutorials and manuals being finished at the moment.

Current range of boards is as follows
  • Basic Breakout card - All GPIO signals and prototyping area
GPIO 8 bit I2C - as per basic breakout with PCF8574 (I2C 8 bit port) in protyping area
GPIO 16 bit I2C - as per basic breakout with PCF8575 (I2C 16 bit port) in protyping area
7 Segment and Switch simple add on for doing coding with LEDs and a switch input 1 inch 7 Segment display
For images of boards see Facebook page and shortly also available on my website

Currently I have orders for some boards and first production run will be started very shortly, let me know interest or of course if you want to order one or two or three

Nice looking boards. What chips are you using for the 5V - 3.3V level conversion?

Not finalised yet, should be after weekend, once some quotes have returned..

Targetting as low as possible obviously. Targetting 15 to 20 pounds (inc VAT and P&P) but until quotes
are finalised cannot be guaranteed yet.

Will post again after weekend with finalised costing
