Raspbian vs Debian armhf

Tue Nov 05, 2013 11:47 pm

Hello, I'm a newbie to the Pi and would like to know why debian says on its wiki that armhf won't work on Pi, but Raspbian, which is based on debian armhf will?

likely an arm version mismatch. you need to use an os compiled for the older version that the pi uses.

Debian ARMHF is compiled for ARMv7 CPUs, while Raspbian is compiled for ARMv6 with Hard Float capability specifically enabled.
