Share desktop peripherals with the Pi

Mon Mar 18, 2013 5:19 am

I don't want to have to get another dedicated set of Mouse/Keyboard to use with the Pi, nor do I want to hassle with unplugging those devices and plugging them in to the Pi everytime I switch from Desktop to Pi. Better yet, if I can control both desktop and pi at the same time (with dual monitors, one for pi one for desktop and have focus shift depending on mouse position) that'll be even better (something like sharemouse http://www.share-mouse.com/ but they don't like like they have support between Mac/Pi).

Anyone come up with an ingenious solution without having to use expensive KVM hardware?

In the Raspbian "wheezy" repository is synergy

apt-get update
apt-get install synergy
apt-get install quicksynergy
