Additional Power led

Fri Mar 15, 2013 12:52 am

Hi,
I installed raspbmc and built a closed case for it, I just found out I can connect a reset button to P6 to turn it back on and I was trying to find a way to also add a power led.

I don't know if it is possible to use the GPIO pins for that since I am using raspbmc, can I?
But is there another quick-fix solution to add a power led, similar to the reset pins?

Also, can someone point me to a list of all the pins on the Pi and what they do? (Google did not find anything for me :( )

Thanks.

the power LED is simply a LED plus 1K series resistor, connected between the PI's 3V3 and GND.
Should be trivial to replicate that externally.

There's a list of the pins on the wiki at http://elinux.org/Rpi_Low-level_peripherals

Make sure you refer to the Rev. 2 definitions, as you have a Rev. 2 board :)
