A/V Connection to old TV without HDMI

Fri Mar 08, 2013 1:23 pm

Hi folks,

I've just received my new Raspberry Pi and need some guidance on the best way to connect it to my fairly old TV.

Sony KE-32TS2E - page 30 on the PDF linked shows what each letter label in the picture is for.

The connections available are:

However the areas marked C and D are already taken by the Sky STB.

Any tips?

Off hand I have splitters on some of my TV's that allow to choose a source.

This is just a random link of one but gives the idea of what could work

Ur link will work.
That quote can be slightly misleading. SCART (RGB) can deliver a better picture than the others, but that adaptor uses SCART (Composite) and will be exactly the same quality as a standar Composite link.

Having said that, yes, I agree, it will work, and is the best option in this case. :)

Hi mate, did this cable work?

I bought this, that looks identical, from ebay: http://bit.ly/15WHc6I and it doesn't work at all.

Would be handy to have one complete cable to do the job than faff around with adapters.
