Raspbian Lite: how to switch apps without closing them?

Sat Oct 05, 2019 6:31 am

I recently installed Raspbian Lite, which only boots into a DOS/CMD/Terminal mode. This is perfect for my needs. I installed Nukkit on there and made it as a startup service. But it starts up running in the background.

I want to be able to switch between the Nukkit server app and the normal OS console. How do I do that? And, is there a way to tell my "nukkit.service" file to open it to the front rather than run in the background?
DECLARE @JarLevel int = 24
WHILE @JarLevel > 0
BEGIN
SELECT aCookie FROM [the].[cookie].[jar] WHERE theCookieType = 'Chocolate Chip' and theChipType = (@semi - @sweet)
SET @JarLevel = @JarLevel -1
END
PRINT ':-)'

Why do you want to have it in the foreground ? If its a server its very unlikely that you can interact with it. If you want to see what it logs then look at the logfile. You can follow a logfile "live" with "tail -f" command.

Run things in the background by suffixing the command with an &.
Switch things from foreground to background with [CTRL]+[Z] then bg.
Find what's running with jobs.
Switch things from background to foregound with fg.

Go and read the man pages for those shell commands. Start with a man man command.
