can't find /var/www directory

Thu Feb 22, 2018 12:37 pm

Hi,

I can't find a /var/www directory on my Raspberry Pi Jessie. Is that normal?

If I try to add a www folder, it wouldn't give me a permission.

I also tried ls -al from terminal in /var but that doesn't list anything either.

I tried to download apache, hoping it would create that folder, it also didn't create anything.

Any help?

I didn't have /var/www by default on Stretch either. Just ran

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install -y apache2
and it got created.

Is there anything you need it for ?

If you want to create it just run:

Code: Select all

sudo mkdir /var/www
I tinker around with Raspberry Pis daily and make sure that people can easily access theirs remotely.

hi,

I had to update... simple mistake -_-

Now I also have it.

I am trying to install pocketvj, it needs to copy some stuff to /var/www

thanks for the reply though.
