Raspberry Pi LCD - 7" NON-Touchscreen?

Fri Jan 13, 2017 3:14 am

Is there a NON-touchscreen version of the Official RaspberryPi (Pi Foundation) 7" HMDI display?

Like this one:

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/13733
or
https://www.adafruit.com/products/2718

*(not sure why the almost $15.00 difference though)..

BUT NOT a touchscreen? (and perhaps being not a touchscreen, cheaper then?)

Lastly... is the 'black bezel' around/over the screen.. the actual 'touchscreen' portion of the product?

I believe the black bezel makes it over 7" now?

thanks! :D

There is no non-touch Official Screen.

Maybe this will suffice ? http://www.neosecsolutions.com//product ... 8&cPath=21

Thanks for the reply!..

The display looks great.., except for the oversized PCB its mounted to.. (wont fit my application/project then) :(

But it was a +5v powered display which is what I was/am looking for.

Can the black bezel on the touch screen be removed? (and if so.. does this then disable/break the touch capabilities?)

And other +5v 7" displays out there? (sorry, having only ever played with Arduino based stuff.. HDMI displays were never an issue! haha).. so this is new territory for me.

All feedback/communication on this topic welcome!.

thanks!

What about this:

https://www.adafruit.com/products/1933

Pros?

Cons?

Not sure about the driver board?

Says +5v?

Looks to be same size as official HMDI Pi display.. MINUS the front bezel/touch screen portion?

Anyone use these before by chance?

thank you for the reply...

It looks darn close! (no clue on the price of it though?)

The only things I cant make out are:

1.) Does the back PCB extend past the monitor/display edges??

2.) Does the RPi have to stick out so far form the side/back? I have a limited space in my project and would like to keep things to 7" wide...

runs on the +5v from the RPi lines.... as well.

This one looks to have better resolution than the on e linked to above??.. How will that work when using RetroPie? (any issues I need to know about?)

Does the RPi have to mount in that specific area on the back? (ie: is it matching up with some header pins or something? or can it be relocated/mounted elsewhere?

thanks!
