the tutorial (http://www.pyimagesearch.com/2015/05/25 ... nd-opencv/
) using OpenCV will fail because of 2 things:
- you will have a hard time to opencv installed on the PI. all tutorials and install scripts fail in one way or another. again, too much outdated things.
- the second problem: even if you managed to get the motion tracker installed, the OpenCV motion detect script in Python is ok but you need lots of light to make it work good.
As alternative you can:
1. buy a standard infrared indoor/outdoor motion detector (for houses, 10euro)
2. as soon, its reacting, it turns on power, you can now plug all sorts of things: an old radio, a light,...
fast done. no need to waste a RPI for this. if you still want RPI setup anyway, i also have some ready to use stuff regarding this: https://cloud.githubusercontent.com/ass ... 9f5c6a.png
. But it requires you to use some software of mine and get OpenCV properly installed.
