New app not avail for RPi3 App Launch Bar

I have a feeling this will be one of those "I should have thought of that!" questions, but here goes:

--I installed a password manager using Add/Remove Software
--I wanted to add a shortcut for it on the panel, so I went to Panel Settings/Panel Applets/Application Launch Bar/Preferences.
--Problem: the newly installed app doesn't appear under Installed Applications.
--I can't find the solution with search engines and I tried

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update

and

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg-query -l

but neither did the trick.

What's the solution?

My bad. A reboot was all it needed.
