hello,
I have connected my Pi with my Windows Workgroup (Wifi Homenet) via Samba, it works fine and I can see it in my PC workgroup folder as
Samba 4.2.10-Debian (Raspberrypi)
I used this guide to set it up:

But if I have a 2nd Pi with identical hardware and software setup, it appears with the same name in the network, and I can't distinguish which is which.

Is it possible to assign specific names to the Pis to appear under their proprietary names then in the Windows net, too?

Change the host name of one of the Pi.
Use 'sudo raspi-config' to do that.

better yet, change the host name of both of the Pis, then you won't have the same hassle again when you add another one or load a fresh OS onto the one you renamed.
