Compiling some book C++ code

Sun Feb 21, 2016 9:21 pm

I have the book for "Exploring the Raspberry Pi 2 with C++" and the source code that is available for download.

When I go to "make" the directory, I first had an error with libevent-dev or something, which was simple to install. Now, one of the programs wants -lrpi2 . I looked, and although a librpi2.a is there, even if I copy/paste an rpi2.a file, it still doesn't find it. I can't find any mention of an rpi2 library ANYWHERE online.

A semi-related question, is there a "best" C/C++ library? I see there's a bunch but they use weird mode descriptions or require lots of set-up. pigpio seems the easiest, but any suggestions would be welcome.

The book should have told you where to get it. But in the meantime check this out: https://github.com/ve3wwg/raspberry_pi2 ... 4X/librpi2
