SD Card Cloning

Wed Jan 13, 2016 5:14 pm

Hello
I´m new in this medium and have had a question, how google give me not enough answers.
I have had install and modive a complette raspbery system on a 16GB card.
Now I want to install some experiments, and for this I want to make a clone 16GB SD Card.
With the programms Roadskil, USB SD card kopier, WIN 32 Disk imeger I can copie.
But when I put in the card in the raspberry, it not start like the original one. It comes with a screen to recover with the Shift
key ( what not funktion) and than with some Datasystems to make, hitting the Enter or Return Key makes nothing.

How could clone the SD 16GB Card to an other new 16GB card, and start dircet like the orginal one.
Years ago I Copy with Ghoost or Acronis harddisk and this runs 100%
When I´m looking with the Exploerer, both cards were identical in there folders
Thanks for helping me

Arnold

Search these forums for "rpi-clone" by Bill Wilson (billw). It will clone from a smaller to a larger SD card and expand to use all available space. Also larger to smaller, assuming available space. Also does incremental backups, copying only the changes between cards. Easy to run once installed with formatted SD card in USB reader/writer.
sudo rpi-clone sda -v

I have run this successfully from clean installs of Raspian Wheezy on a PiB, and Jessie on a Pi2. I was not successful with a NOOBS version of a year or so ago.

hey,
I'm using this Roadkil’s Disk Image tool - it works simple and pefect to my observation! I used it several times meanwhile to clone my 32GB Raspi SD card, and either copy works fine like the original one!

http://www.roadkil.net/program.php/P12/Disk%20Image
#define S sqrt(t+2*i*i)<2
#define F(a,b) for(a=0;a<b;++a)
float x,y,r,i,s,j,t,n;int main(){F(y,64){F(x,99){r=i=t=0;s=x/33-2;j=y/32-1;F(n,50&S){t=r*r-i*i;i=2*r*i+j;r=t+s;}if(S){PointOut(x,y);}}}for(;;);}
