Rasp pi 2 SD Question

Fri Mar 20, 2015 5:40 pm

Hello,
I am new user of the rasp pi 2 i await its arrival next week and I am a bit confused about the SD.
So, is it compatible only with the microSD? Or can i use a SD, too?
I searched the forum but I wasn't getting a clear answer about it.
Thank you in advance

Only microsd. But much easier if you use the microsd just for initial boot, and put all data and the root partition on a mini USB drive.

FWIW, the NOOBS installer is usually supplied on a Samsung 8Gb, class 6 uSDHC card + adapter and I've successfully used all the uSDHC card types and classes shown here:

Go with a supplier "you know" at a price you consider fair - w.r.t. to the larger (>=32Gb) card sizes beware of cheap cards from "dubious sources", there are fakes "out there".
Trev.
Still running Raspbian Jessie on some older Pi's (an A, B1, B2, B+, P2B, 3xP0, P0W) but Stretch on my 2xP3A+, P3B+, P3B, B+, A+ and a B2. See: https://www.cpmspectrepi.uk/raspberry_pi/raspiidx.htm
