Inital Boot stalls??

Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:14 pm

Pi arrived today. I have just downloaded Debian Squeeze from the Pi Download page. Connected it all up. I am using my Toshiba TV as my initial screen using std HDMI connect.

I can't see the first 3 or 4 characters of each line. It has stalled. The last 2 lines are scheduler: cron then
something layer: haldstarting internet superserver: xinetd.

Any ideas whay it would stop there? Do I need to be connected to the internet? If I need to I can use a Ethernet cable.

That image is quite old. Can you try with the newer Wheezy image:

What points to an insufficient power source please?

Is the Debian download on the www.raspberrypi.org/downloads not the recommended one?

Also having this issue with the Squeeze image. Boot stalls at "Starting internet superserver: xinetd" when no network is plugged in and at "My network address is..." when it is.

Any ideas?
