Have a look: https://github.com/digitalLumberjack/re ... l-%28EN%29

If the Pi is connected via ethernet in the same network like your laptop, for example type "\\192.168.0.0" (without "" and your IP) in your Windows explorer. There you go... If I'm wrong, I said nothing :D

Anyway to have the rom folders in a different location?

Eg: USB Stick / Network Path?

How would I go about connecting a Bluetooth controller

http://m.gamestop.com/Catalog/Product/104425

I was able to connect it in retro pie but not configure it but recall I can't even figure out how to connect it. I'm not familiar with Linux so any help would be greatly appreciated

The controller has a keyboard mode if that helps

Resolved!

Both my laptop and pi are on the same network as I mentioned.

Go to 'run' on laptop, type '\\recalbox' without quotes and i can access all the folders to drag and drop.

Appreciate this may have been obvious but I really couldn't work it out and even google didn't help (and this might help some other people)

Played some MarioKart 64 last night.

Amazing emulator. Kudos to the author :D

I see a latest version has just been released which add CIFS support which answers my question about network roms storage :)

Now, my problem is that my network isn't available before emulationstation / KODI boots up.

I will add a small startup script to ping my NAS, and wait until response.

Maybe a feature suggestion for you to add? Wait for network for X seconds?

Yep the network starts after emulationstation, because there is no need for a connexion in oder to play.

If you want to wait for the network, you will have to rename the emulationstation script to start after networks scripts. But network takes a long time to start, if you have wifi on. you'll see.

Hi,

I lucked out and ended up with some gasia ps3 controller clones.
Was scratching my head until I saw:

After a lot of trial and error, I managed to get my GASIA controllers working :)
There is 1x file that needs to be changed. /usr/sbin/sixad-sixaxis
For anyone else with these controllers, I have uploaded the working file here:
https://mega.co.nz/#!PMJ01ZLT!JHF4gFiqA ... 6XYidtpjG0

This is built from the source here:
https://github.com/ryonlabaw/qtsixa/blob/master/sixad/

(Only tested working in latest recalbox on RPI2)

Looking at the code, it may also work with official controllers and ShanWan controllers.
I have neither of these to test with. DigitalLumberJack did you maybe want to try swapping out the above file and test with the other controllers?

Also, I'm using a CSR Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode) dongle - so again - strange it works.
Have tried with other BT dongles and same file above still works.

YAH!

Only thing I notice is that the LED on both controllers always shows #1

A "feature-suggestion", I didn't bother to add it on github since it's not an issue really, more of something I thought should be nice. How about separating PC-Engine and PC-Engine CD (since Mega Drive and Mega CD is already separated, I think it would make it all more consistent.

Also, are there anyhwere I can find any documentation about the different cores? I have only been able to get Mega CD games working with the audio-tracks as WAV-files, while PC-Engine CD-games work with the audio as ogg. It would be nice if there is some sort of compression that works with Mega-CD games aswell!

First of all: this is a very nice project! Thanks for all the effort.

current version has a black screen with sound when running n64 games, on msx the joystick input does not work.
feature request: enable hdmi-cec to navigate the menus with a remote

Out of interest. How does the PSX emulation on recalbox compare to retropie 2.6?

I am aware they both use PCSX-rearmed but does recalbox use the ARM NEON GPU by exophase??

I.e does it look any better/different?

I would also like to know about any plans to add a DOS emulator? rpi86 or FastDosBox?

Would love to have a jam of Whacky Wheels with some friends :)

Or, would it be easy enough for me to add the FastDosBox binary and add a new entry to emulation station?

Ok, how do I get a Dualshock 3 to work with this?!

I've just tried a new one and it won't detect. I've attached it via usb the red lights flash as they do when it's charging.

But that's as far as it goes.

I've tried 2 different Bluetooth dongles and no joy

recalbox won't detect it whether it's connected by usb or not.

Waiting 10 seconds does nothing

When I disconnect the usb all the dual shock does is flash a few times, vibrate and then goes off.

And all this time it comes up no gamepad detected!

Any help greatly received!

I think your manual needs updating a bit.
For starters, it doesn't say you can have most roms in a ZIP archive (which saves quite a bit of space).

Also, some of your folder names in /share seem to be named wrong

eg: gameboyadvance as the folder name for GBA roms.
Emulation Station won't pick up my roms in here

Looking at your es_systems.cfg, the emulator is setup to look for the folder named "gba".

Hi digitallumberjack.

I am trying out 3.2.9 on pi2 and am very impressed how smooth this all works.

One issue i notice is FBA 029734 through libretro is very slow on konami (eg aliens) and cps3 roms.
performance is much smoother with the older 029730 build at https://github.com/libretro/fba-libretro
Builds fine from svn-curent/trunk directory for me with

Code: Select all

make -f makefile.libretro CC="gcc-4.8" CXX="g++-4.8" platform=armv7neonhardfloat -j 4
. also builds on 4.5 but does not like raspbian 4.7 for some reason.

Maybe this is worth looking at, or installing as an option if you have not already?

Did you add profile=performance to make ? Didn't try aliens but i'm playing cps3 at full speed with the new libretro-fba.

I confirm aliens is also running at full speed with latest fba (with color issues). The issue is either with your OC settings, or your cpufreq governor is not set on performance.

I got sf3 3rd strike working ok now (used a different jpn-nocd rom set) but as you noticed also theres issues with colors in aliens. (also affects other konami games such as turtles and simpsons). Im getting audio stuttering as well on the konami games.
I re-compiled fba from github on my raspbian setup with your recommended settings to see if it was a recalbox issue but had the same problems.

Id imagine the sound stuttering is due to my non-overclocked setup, ill try squeezing a little more performance out of the pi itself.

Sorry this has gone a little off topic from recalbox-specific. BarbuDreadmon- thanks for the help, do you have a thread on forum or bugtracker for fba related issues?

Hi can you point to the emulationstation code where you were able to change the splash screen?
By thinking like an engineer you can create a raspberry pi.
Michael Jackson enthusiast.
I got the PI model B, B+ and PI 2 model B.
When will I get the A? I don't know.
