The scummvm games only play sound with the beta. The screen stays blank :( and no going back to the main menu with the hotkey+start (controller)
Restart doesn't work anymore? (menu>quit>restart)
Now I'm having trouble with network share as wel. (Could be my pc)
Is there any way to can get controller support for kodi? Now I have to hook up a keyboard everytime I want to try something with kodi.
I'll test some more tomorrow. (wifi etc)

Is it possible to get a true edge to edge screen resolution? When starting up recalbox, all four corners are about half an inch wider than the screen. If I turn overscan on, the viewable image is smaller and about 1 inch black border all the way around.

Then, when I start SNES, the black bars are about 3 inches all the way around. Sorry, I'm in the US and I understand most of the rest of the world uses the metric system and I did not convert.

Tell me if you all already knew this, but I found a setting with a huge performance boost in Playstation emulation on RPi2. From rgui (hotkey+B) go to "Options" then "Core Options" and change Framekip from 1 to 0.

Retroarch must have been configured assuming that PSX would run slow so it was frameskipping by default. It can easily handle all the PS1 games I've tried with this setting.

After the beta test from yesterday, that saved me from many angry users that would have had a broken system, here is the release.

v3.2.5 :

Refactored the boot system
added /recalbox/share/system/recalbox.conf for fine tuning (see recalbox.conf wiki)
Support db9 and gamecon drivers from recalbox.conf
Add wifi config from recalbox.conf
Add language and keyboard selection from recalbox.conf
Added xboxdrv binary
Fixed ntfs support
Download it at https://github.com/digitalLumberjack/re ... s/releases

Your image looks promising to me. But I've some questions:

1. Is it possible to install Mopidy via this tutorial to run in background
2. Is it possible to remove Kodi and replace the menu option with "Start Mopidy" or else? Or maybe add another option for it.
3. Is it possible to run a webserver (Apache2, PHP5, MySQL and ProFTP) in the background?

Sorry for maybe some dumb questions, but I'm really new to Linux and already tried to install - without success - everything from scratch on a Raspbian (Diet-Pi) image. Many thanks in advance and keep up the good work!

Hello,
yes and no :
1 - You can create a buildroot script to compile and install Mopidy, but it will never be in recalbox by default.
2 - You can modify recalbox-emulationstation and replace the menu yes.
3 - You can add the support of a web server in buildroot and recompile the system if you want, but you will never ever have a web server in the recalboxOS.

For the 3 solutions you will have to recompile recalbox buildroot.

Have a nice day.

Hi,

I wonder if in this release the NES30 controller are working via BT, because I've tried to connect them without success or maybe I'm doing something wrong

keep at the good work!

Lumberjack,

I tested the db9 support! I had to change one cable on GPIO to make it work on RPi B+!
I will post some pictures soon!

Quick question for you guys

I've got recalbox up and running and its looking very slick

However, how do I get the appropriate games on there?!

I put the sd card into my laptop and was hoping to see a list of folders called "Snes / Nes" etc to drag and drop but there are none

I could be missing the point completely and its a simple resolution but i'm stumped at the moment!

Check the manual under "Network Features". https://github.com/digitalLumberjack/re ... l-%28EN%29

It supports both ssh/scp or windows file-shares.

Thanks

Is that the only way? Was hoping to do it 'offline' by just drag and drop into the appropriate folders.

Windows will only recognize the first partition on removable media, and it sadly isn't the one where games/screenshots/etc are stored. If you want to put things in there using a single computer, you'll have use a virtual machine with Linux, mount the card and transfer the files using either Samba or making an .iso file with all your games in Windows and mounting it as a CD drive in the virtual machine with Linux. It is not a fast thing to do either so just transferring files over the network is possibly the best you can do.

Also, I found on one of my projects that the /boot partion does not need to be 'physically' the first partion.
You can have p1 sector after p2 and still boots fine.

In fdisk you just set the partion number to 1 and have the start sector after the ext4.

My customer needed a large FAT32 partion so here is how I did it.

Partion1: /boot (FAT32 shrunk) startsector=6001 endsector=6062 mmcblk0p1
Partion2: /system (ext4) startsector=0 endsector=6000 mmcblk0p2

On first boot, enlarge partion 1 to SD card size.

Code: Select all

cp -avr /boot /tmp/boot
umount /boot
mkfs.vfat -F32 -v -I -n " " /dev/mmcblk0p1
mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /boot
cp -r /tmp/boot/* /boot/
This way, windows will see the larger partion etc.

Not sure if you could work this with NOOBS however?

Is it possible to get snes9x 1.53 on the RPi2 in recalboxOS? Or is it to slow?
The Snes9x Ex on Android is based on the snes9x 1.53 and it is really fast with snes roms.
The RPi2 should be have enough power to handle it...

Dont think I'm designed for this raspberry pi lark! :(

I just can't fathom how to get ROMs on it.

Recal box is on my pi fine, its connected via Ethernet (its just updated in fact) but I've only got the ROMs on there that came with it (which work fine)

But that's as far as my (admittedly small) understanding goes.

I've got a laptop with windows 7 with unzipped ROMs ready to go

I can't even get WiFi to work from the recal box network menu.

Can someone tell me how to get the pi and my laptop to 'talk' so I can get the ROMs on there?

Even a link to a YouTube video would be great!

Sorry for the noon questions, just finding it a touch frustrating!
