Sat May 17, 2014 10:53 pm

Title says it all. I'm going to build my own dos machine and I'm wondering what games you guys have gotten to run on your pi.

The Pi is an ARM based computer it cannot run DOS games because that would require an x64 compatible processor.

Not true, of course.

DOSBox works pretty well - at least in console mode (not X).
And some folks need to stop being fanboys and see the forest behind the trees.

(One of the best lines I've seen on this board lately)

I played the Quest for Glory series on Rpix86 with my pi on my TV set just fine. There is a whole thread on rpix86 check it out it will tell you which games are having issues.

ScummVM is great. Played a bit of Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island.

Edit: Oh and Doom of course, but that has nothing to do with ScummVM.

Baldurs Gate (ok technically its a windows game...) using gemrb http://www.gemrb.org
Ultima 4 6 and 7 - ive posted guides in the last week for 4 and 7
As mentioned above SCUMMVM works nicely. I compile/use 1.6 to play Eye of the Beholder.

Carrier Command using DOSBox.

Sids Zartican Adventure ... But there are only a handful of people on the planet who would have ever heard of that one!

All games with SCumvm (is that the name?), Doom 1+2 (ChocolateDoom), Sid meiers civilisation, Oregon trail, Microsoft Flight Simulator 1+2+3+4+5, Sim City (very slow), The Incredible Machine (quite fun), Microsoft space simulator (bit boring), Wolfenstein 3D, The Settlers 2 Gold Edition (very slow - unusable), Buzz Aldrins Race Into Space, the list goes on.
I'm happy to help.

SZ - Never heard of it. Even a Google search only turns out this post as the best result, and 1/2 more.
