Changing duke nukem 3d resolution?

Wed Jan 02, 2019 2:07 pm

Is it even possible in retropie?
1920x1080 runs too slow so I've been trying to change it.
You can't do it in game because it tries to go into window mode and then crashes. There is talk of a config file that doesn't exist, and when added (~/retropie/ports/duke3d/eduke32.cfg) the game doesn't seem to use it.

Might not help for Retropie, but on Raspbian with the full OpenGL driver it runs smoothly at 1080p on a Pi 3. Requires building with USE_OPENGL=1. See this topic.

If sticking with Retropie eduke32: The default folder on other Linux systems is ~/.eduke32 so try there? Otherwise, go to the folder with the executable and run:

Code: Select all

    strace ./eduke32 > ~/log.txt
Then look through the strace log to find out which files it has accessed to identify the config dir and config file.
